UK National Curriculum — Algorithms, Programming, Networks & Online Safety
Computing equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. The core of computing is computer science — the principles of information and computation, digital systems, and how to put this knowledge to use through programming.
Understand algorithms as step-by-step instructions; how programs execute on digital devices; debugging.
Years 1–2Create and debug simple programs; predict behaviour; inputs and outputs; using Scratch or similar.
Years 1–2Keep personal information private; recognise safe/unsafe online behaviour; where to go for help.
Years 1–2Sequences, selection (if/else), repetition (loops); variables; procedures; design and write programs.
Years 3–6How networks work; routers and servers; World Wide Web; HTTPS; search engines; how content is retrieved.
Years 3–6Strong passwords; cyberbullying; phishing; GDPR; personal data rights; reporting concerns.
Years 3–6Abstraction, decomposition, pattern recognition and logical reasoning to solve problems efficiently.
Years 5–6All content is free. This portal is supported by the Christ Family Fellowship. Donations are welcome based on your personal conviction — read more about giving →
